Building on Momentum
After two decades of transformative impact, the Prison Entrepreneurship Program is entering 2025 with a renewed focus on expanding access and deepening impact. From curriculum enhancements to event growth and reentry services, the coming year will reflect PEP’s ongoing commitment to long-term transformation through education and community.
Enhanced In-Prison Programs
PEP is continuing to build on the success of its in-prison programming, often described as a “mini-MBA.” The curriculum includes:
- Business education led by volunteer professionals
- Character development rooted in values and leadership
- Business plan competitions judged by outside executives
Participants develop practical skills and professional confidence in preparation for their return to society.
Expanded Reentry Services
PEP is increasing the scope of its post-release support to help participants navigate housing, employment, and entrepreneurship after incarceration. These services include:
- Transitional housing and job placement
- One-on-one case management and mentorship through the PEP Collider model
- Alumni support, including coaching and business startup guidance
This wraparound structure ensures graduates are supported through every phase of reentry.
2025 Event Highlights
This year’s calendar includes several major in-prison events where participants showcase their work and connect with the outside community. Key dates include:
- Bell Summer 2025 Big Idea Pitch – February 28
- Estes Summer 2025 Big Idea Pitch – March 28
- Bell Summer 2025 Business Plan Competition – May 23
- Estes Fall 2025 Business Plan Competition and Graduation – October 17
Each event highlights the growth and dedication of participants and gives supporters an opportunity to engage firsthand.
Ways to Get Involved
Supporters can join PEP’s mission in several meaningful ways:
- Volunteer as a mentor, pitch coach, or event guest
- Sponsor a participant through the Class Investment Opportunity
- Attend a graduation or business plan competition
- Share PEP’s work to help grow its impact
Your time, expertise, and generosity help create lasting change for individuals and their communities.
Looking Forward
PEP’s plans for 2025 are focused, strategic, and centered on impact. With more participants, stronger programming, and increased community engagement, the organization is poised for another year of meaningful growth.
The mission remains the same: to unlock potential, restore dignity, and build a pathway to freedom through character development and entrepreneurship.
