HOW WE DO IT
RE-ENTRY
Reintegration Program

Reintegration—shifting from prison life, to life in the “free world.” Re-entry into society is a crucial time for our participants—studies show that former inmates are most vulnerable and impressionable within the first 72 hours following release. We do our best to provide our graduates with a warm greeting back to the “free world” by offering a structured environment of accountability. We leave them with no excuse to return to a life of crime. PEP’s solution includes:
  • Housing
  • Professional clothing for interviews
  • Medical, dental and optical care
  • Family reunification services
  • Community, fellowship and social activities
  • Job opportunities
  • Assistance with obtaining identification (e.g., driver’s license)
  • Parole mediation
  • Transportation
  • Church connections
Re-entry Care Package

One of our most useful reintegration initiatives is our re-entry care package program. Our participants leave prison with nothing but the clothes on their backs and are expected to succeed. Our re-entry care package program is designed to ease the transition back into society by providing the small things that matter most, including:
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste and floss
  • Shampoo, soap and deodorant
  • Shaving cream and razor
  • Socks, underwear and undershirts
  • Set of bed sheets, pillow and towels
  • Starter kitchen set
  • Wallet and watch
  • Brush, comb and hair gel
  • Portfolio and pen for interviews
  • Duffle bag
By providing the basic necessities and walking with the men through life’s challenges, we are able to provide an effective solution for a difficult situation. We don’t just watch our graduates upon release … we “do life” together.

Job Placement Program

Our job placement program is another key initiative for our graduates. The national statistic that 89% of recidivists are unemployed at the time of their arrest speaks to the enormous need for our graduates to find jobs upon their release. We utilize our employment assistance partners along with our executive network to ensure our graduates have access to good jobs with livable wages. Does our reintegration program sound like a good deal? It’s much better than the alternative. Click here to read an example of a release without PEP support.
